It takes time to mourn

There is a feeling of unreality upon hearing of the death of the Queen.  We have to accept that never again will we see her as a living being.  Our world has shifted and changed, and we have to adjust to it.  This is one of the tasks of mourning, realising the changes that will occur and how we have to adapt to them.  This is regardless of whether the death is that of the Queen, or a member of our family, or a friend.  It takes time to mourn.

Gradually as the sadness of bereavement passes, we remember all the happy memories and we can celebrate having known the person and be grateful for their presence in our lives.
