Everyday Hassles

Following a loss, you might feel like a vase that has been broken into bits and glued back together again.  You may feel weak and vulnerable.  The shape of your world has changed and you feel out of touch with everyday events.   Everything seems different.  Everyday hassles can overwhelm you.

Issues occurring at work, your car breaking down or keys becoming lost can feel overwhelming. You have little energy left for dealing with children’s demands or the needs and difficulties of your friends.  All of your energy is required to keep yourself going on a day-to-day basis.

It is important to realise that the process of grieving uses up much of your energy and, as you slowly heal, you still require this energy input so there is little in reserve for other events. You can just about cope with day-to-day small events, but need help with larger ones, even if you have always been a strong capable character.

It is a slow process adjusting and coming to terms with your loss and the changes associated with it. Your energy levels take a while to rebuild to their previous levels leaving you feeling tired and exhausted much of the time, especially in the early days of loss.  Do not drive yourself too hard.

As you move through your grieving journey and gradually heal, you do return to your earlier energy levels so be kind to yourself and, when you feel tired, rest.  Accept that you are processing your grief and sense of loss. Take care of yourself on your journey.#grief;#lossandtiredness;#sad;#mentalhealth;#onedayatatime
